Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, President of the World Health Tourism Council, stated that the need for ‘young people to receive qualified tourism education’, which the world is united on, offers an important opportunity for the TRNC and underlined that the 23 universities in the TRNC have a great potential to meet this need.
Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (Global Healthcare Travel Council), drew attention to the fact that the needs for tourism education of young people, which came to the fore at the Ministerial Summit held in London, can be met in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Participating in the meetings held with the participation of 182 countries within the scope of the World Travel Market London, which hosted the Ministerial Summit, on behalf of the TRNC, the chairman of the term, MP Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, signed special agreements with health and tourism businesses operating in the UK to open a health tourism liaison office in London.

LIAISON OFFICE TO BE OPENED IN ENGLAND
WTM temasları kapsamında, İngiltere’den Kuzey Kıbrıs’a 2024 yılında daha fazla sağlık turisti getirilmesine yönelik çeşitli sağlık ve turizm kuruluşlarıyla Londra’da irtibat ofisi oluşturulmasına yönelik özel anlaşmalar da imzalayan Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, yapılan anlaşmalar ile konan hedefin İngiltere’den KKTC’ye getirilen sağlık turisti sayısında %70 oranında artış elde etmek olduğunu duyurdu.

“TRANSFORMING TOURISM THROUGH YOUTH AND EDUCATION...”
Pointing out that the main theme of this year's Tourism Ministers Summit, organized jointly by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), was “Transforming Tourism through Youth and Education”, Ahmet Savaşan pointed out that the leaders of world tourism addressed the current gaps in tourism education in the meetings held and agreed that priority should be given to empowering young people with qualified education processes in order to create a skilled and flexible workforce that can take advantage of the opportunities that will arise while coping with the challenges of tourism.

Pointing out that the need for ‘young people to receive qualified tourism education’, which the world is united on, offers an important opportunity for the TRNC, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan underlined that the 23 universities in the TRNC have a great potential in meeting this need. Savaşan said, “If our government, universities and stakeholders act together and take the necessary steps to meet the needs of young people around the world for tourism education in the TRNC, very important gains can be achieved for educational tourism on the one hand and for the sustainable development of Northern Cyprus tourism on the other. I wholeheartedly believe in our potential in this regard and that we can take the necessary steps.”.
